In January 2026, we had the opportunity to host the Cloud Native Vienna Meetup. The event took place at Impact Hub Vienna and brought together members of the local tech community.

The evening focused on practical insights and technical exchange around cloud-native technologies, performance, and scalability. Developers, DevOps engineers, and architects used the opportunity to discuss current challenges and best practices.

A highlight of the evening was the talk by Sebastian Miksch titled “Break it till you make it – Pushing systems to their limits with load and performance testing.” He demonstrated why it’s crucial to identify system limits before users do.

Especially engaging was the live demo in a cloud-native environment: a Kubernetes cluster was deliberately put under load, allowing participants to observe how the system scales and responds to increasing traffic.

For us, the meetup was a great opportunity to bring together the cloud-native community in Vienna, exchange experiences, and discuss best practices in performance engineering.
